The list of items below is merely our suggestions. Bring fewer or more items based on your individual needs. For tropical weather, bring clothes that are cool, light and thin, and that dry easily. Natural fiber or synthetic wicking-fabrics seem to work best. Our moto is “Comfort & Casual.”

WHAT TO BRING

CLOTHES

At least 1 collared-shirt, short or long sleeves
T-shirts or blouses, including one long-sleeved shirt
1 –2 pairs of long pants
2 -3 pairs of shorts
A few pairs of underwear, quick-drying if possible
Socks (2 pairs at the most)
Swimsuit
Hat (preferably packable)
Eye glasses/contacts, plus an extra pair just in case
Sunglasses
Good walking shoes
Thongs/flip-flops or sandals
Light waterproof rain jacket, or a folding umbrella
Handkerchief or bandana

TOILETRIES & OTHER USEFUL ITEMS

Prescription medicines, if used
Basic first aid kit, including band-aids & moleskins
Medications that you may need for diarrhea, headaches, sore throat, colds, motion sickness. Plus, antacids, antiseptic ointment/cream and other regularly-used medications or health supplements (e.g. vitamins)
Menstrual medication and supplies, if needed
Insect repellent
Anti-bacterial wipes
A wash cloth
Ear plugs, especially important if you share a room
Toothbrush & toothpaste
Shampoo & soap
Comb or hairbrush
Safety pins
Shaving razor
Sunscreen
Lip balm
Camera, and extra storage media /film and batteries

 

CRITICAL ESSENTAILS

Passport, including an extra photocopy kept in a separate place from the original
Extra passport-size photos, at least two
Picture ID
Health / Travel insurance
ATM or credit cards
Cash
Airline tickets, including a photocopy of tickets
Vaccination certificates
Other important documents
Small shoulder bag / backpack, or security pouch to carry your passport and other important items
Your travel itinerary and other important information from your tour kit

Plastic water bottle
Small travel alarm clock
Manicure set (no sharp objects if only carry-on luggage)
Address book, or a short list of addresses for family members or friends you wish to send mail or postcards to
Pen and a small notebook
Calculator
Swiss-army knife (cannot be packed with carry-on luggage)
Small travel clothes line
A couple of large ziploc bags
A few plastic bags for soiled or damp laundry
Small mirror, if needed
A small sewing kit, if needed
Contraceptives or prophylactic supplies, if needed
Cell phone (please contact your carrier to unlock phone for use overseas)
Business or name cards
Rubber bands
