Eligibility
You must be
at least 18 years old (except for minors accompanied by a parent) and in
acceptable health to join one of our tours. We retain the right to request
medical clearance or any other information or to refuse any applicant for any
tour at any time for any reason whatsoever, at our sole discretion.
Validity
For tours
departing between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011, the land price is
guaranteed when you have paid in full. For tours in 2012, the prices are
indicative and subject to change.
Payment
Terms
*Reservation
Fee: For both group and custom tours, a $500 per person deposit is required at
least 61 days prior to date of commencement of tour, to secure a place on the
tour.
*Group Tours: The balance of the land cost (minus $750) is due 60 days prior to the date of
commencement of the tour.
*Custom Tours: The balance of land cost is due 60 days prior to the agreed date of commencement of
the tour.
*Booking
Amendments: For group tours, a $50 per change (such as transferring from one
tour to another) charge will apply for any amendments made 30 days or more
prior to tour date. For changes, other than tour cancellations (see conditions
regarding tour cancellations below), made less than 30 days, a fee of $200 per
change will apply.
For custom
tours, a fee of $250 per change, per service provider, will be charged on
client-initiated changes requested after the agreement and itinerary for the
custom tour between you and Jalan Jalan Asia, LLC has been signed.
For both
group and custom tours, the booking amendment charge is in addition to any
charges levied by hotels, ground operators or airlines.
No
amendments are permitted to your booking within 14 days of the tour
commencement.
Late
Bookings
For
bookings made less than 30 days before the tour starting date, a late booking
fee of $100 per booking will be charged.
Tour
Inclusions and Exclusions
Group
tours: Your total booking cost includes all accommodations, local transport,
airport transfers, sightseeing and meals as listed in your itinerary, and the
full services of a group leader. Our prices do not include international
airfares, unless otherwise specified; airport/departure taxes and excess
baggage charges; meals other than those specified in your itinerary; visa and
passport fees; insurance of any kind; optional sightseeing; laundry; postage;
personal clothing; drinks or any other items of a personal nature.
Custom
tours: Inclusions and exclusions will differ for each custom itinerary and are
as shown in your final itinerary/final custom tour agreement.
Cancellations
and Refunds
Correspondence
about trip cancellation must be sent via certified mail to the address given in
the trip confirmation letter. The date of trip cancellation is the date on
which the written cancellation is received by Jalan Jalan Asia, LLC.
60 days or
more prior to date of tour commencement:
* Loss of
reservation fee ($500) applies.
Between 31
days and 59 days prior to date of tour commencement:
* A
cancellation penalty of 50% of the total booking cost will apply.
Less than
30 days prior to date of tour commencement:
* All
(100%) of total booking cost is non-refundable.
In
addition, no refunds will be made if you voluntarily leave a tour or trip for
any reason after the tour has begun. No refunds will be given for any
accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or services not used during the
tour.
Insurance
Travel
insurance is compulsory for all participants in Jalan Jalan Asia’s tours. Your
travel insurance must, at minimum, provide coverage against personal accident,
medical expenses, emergency evacuation and personal liability. In addition, we strongly
advise that you buy trip cancellation insurance, which insures you against loss
of any otherwise non-refundable payments made as a result of having to cancel
your participation due to either yours, a traveling companion’s, or a qualified
relative’s qualified illness or injury. You should also consider insurance that
will cover lost or damaged luggage.
Visas
and Passports
You must
have a valid passport that is at least six months away from expiration.
You are
responsible for obtaining the appropriate visas when traveling with Jalan Jalan
Asia, LLC. For some countries, you can apply for a visa on arrival at their
airport. For others, you may have to apply for a visa a few weeks prior to your
departure. We will advise you which situation applies to you when you have
confirmed your booking with us.
Participation
in a Group Tour
If you are
participating in a group tour, please be aware that group travel requires
compromise to accommodate diverse personalities, preferences, abilities and
objectives of group members. Therefore, you further acknowledge that the tour
leader or director may be required, based on his or her experience and upon
wishes of the group members, to improvise and exercise his or her judgment
and/or make good-faith decisions concerning the management of the tour. In this
regard, you further agree to abide by any such decisions.
Assumption
of Differences, Conditions and Potential Risk in Developing Nations
In
participating in any tour of developing countries, please be informed that the
quality standards, hygiene, cleanliness, sanitation facilities, level of
infrastructural development, political stability, cuisine, sense of urgency,
adherence to schedules, communication styles and skills, and business
practices, among other things, may be deemed different, inferior and/or lacking
than those you are accustomed to in most developed nations. As such, you
acknowledge and accept that travel to such areas involves these and other
elements of risk above and beyond those that would normally be encountered in
industrialized nations. In addition, you also acknowledge that medical
facilities or services may not be readily available or accessible during some
or all of the time for the tour the Client agrees to participate in, and that
evacuation, if necessary, and if available, can be prolonged, difficult and
expensive.
